Camp Fiddlehead

Here is a story I wrote in 30 min writing,

In a little town in the Adirondacks, four children made a ‘town’. It is a little ‘town’ that the children built and operate. It has three restaurants, a police station and a postal service. They have a friendship with the adults so they have three cabins and a boathouse that they can use. Two cabins for sleeping and one for eating, grouping and playing. They use the boathouse for storing their boat as well as using the adults boats to get to the main town where they can get Ice Cream and food. The little ‘town’ is called Fiddlehead. The restaurants are called Owl Bar, Eye Grub Kitchen and Party Pop. The Police Station is called Fiddlehead Police Station and the Postal Service is called The Adirondack Mail System. The ‘town’ was only created this past summer but some stores have been there for a while. The Owl Bar has been there for a few years, the Eye Grub Kitchen has been there for at least five years but has not been open for all of it’s years. It had been created, ran for two years and then has been closed until just last year. There once was a hotel but it closed because it got damaged and was never fixed. The police station, postal service and Party Pop didn’t open until this year. Not one letter has been sent, not much action at the police station and not one customer has come to Party Pop but that’s usual to all stores for the first year because they are still setting up. And all only opened in August, a few weeks before packing up and leaving as summer ended and the leaves started changing colors. It is a summer town meaning it is only open in the summer due to where it is. It is only boat accessible and in the winter it is extremely cold and snowy and the lake freezes extremely thick. The General Store pretty much closes and so there is barely any food and no Ice Cream. The four children have a great time and take care of the town and so it looks nice. The town has no buildings but a lot of work and patience is needed to have fun in the town. The four children’s names are, Hugo, Jack, Wyatt and Sadie.

Second Full Week

This week was a great week, I did a lot! On Sunday I got a new computer which was great! On Monday I investigated my new computer, did 30 min writing, went on the park trip and went to set the week. On Tuesday I did 30 min writing, math, crafts, watched magic school bus, wrapped a strawberry in dough and microwaved it and let Sienna and Matilda play on my iPad. On Wednesday I did 30 min writing, watched and played Captain Sonar (a really fun ‘board game’), let Sienna play games on my iPad and Geogussr. On Thursday I went to The Hall of Science in Queens, it was my first field trip being a student in ALC. And Fryday, What! I mean Friday I went to check-in and change-up, I went to a cool offering on Biology/Anatomy, I played Werewolves, I cut and drew pictures, I finished The Owl Bar restaurant list. That was my week!

First Full Week

This week was my first full week, I did a lot and I feel like I’ve been here for months! On Monday I did Set the Week, Park Trip, 30 min Writing and Acro. On Tuesday I did Math, Werewolves, 7 min workout with Abby, Crafts/Resurfacing a table, 30 min writing with Mel and more research. On Wednesday I watched a bit of a board game, I did Geoguessr, 30 min Writing, Relaxed and help put on a second layer of paint on the table. On Thursday I relaxed and went to the park. And on Friday I made Tamale, did Check in and Change up, Finance Club, Relaxed and went to the park. So as you can see I did a lot, ok maby not on Thursday, but still I did do a lot if you add it all up. And yes Geoguessr is spelled like that! Kind of weird but it’s Google, you never know what exactly they will do!

First Week

This week was my first week at ALC. We only had 3 days but I did a lot! On Wednesday (which was the first day) I was a bit nervous, everyone was a bit crazy  but it settled down as the first day of school started. We had a Set The Week meeting in the morning and then Spawn. Then my first ALC day of the year started! I did some research and went to the park, I made slime and explored the building a bit more. I also played about half of a game called Modern Art with Douglas. On Thursday I watched the magic school bus with Chuck, I researched some more and then researched some pros to an electric go- kart engine because my friend and me are designing go- karts that we want to build but I want an electric engine and he wants a gas engine. On Friday, today, I went to check in and change up, I went to the park and I blogged. We had to take the bus on Monday and Tuesday morning because Mercer was away but then today she got back so we could have a ride with her. I have enjoyed the first three days at ALC and I’m excited for the future!
